Our region of France has so many great restaurants and places to eat, that it’s sometimes difficult to choose where to go, however a particular gem has recently opened in Cognac, called Hotel Chais Monnet, that would compliment any special occasion.
The new 5 star hotel is called Hotel Chais Monnet . Once an old Cognac warehouse, it is located on the banks of the Charente river in the heart of the town. Erected in 1838, it has been ambitiously transformed into a luxurious, elegant, world class hotel with 92 rooms and suites, 13 apartments, 2 restaurants, a New Orleans style jazz bar and a wellness spa retreat.
Sharon and some of her ladies enjoyed a fabulous meal from the a la carte luncheon menu today! We can highly recommend this experience for our visiting guests, and it’s only 20 minutes away.

- Boiled hens egg with mayonnaise foam and thin cured ham
- Oyster mushroom risotto
- Mille-feuille traditional French dessert… pastry filled with vanilla cream and cognac
You can certainly tell head chef, Sébastien Broda brings with him the Michelin star standards he set at his last restaurant….it was simply delicious! We will have to find a celebratory excuse to return very soon!👌❤️
